I think the pitch meeting for the show went something like this:
Writer: "This cartoon is about superheroes that are based on legends and myths from around the world, Isis from ancient Egypt, Hercules from Greek myths, Merlin of Arthurian legend, Sindbad from Persian tales, and uh...something from Asia too."
Studio: "Greenlight this baby!"
